The conference began with welcoming remarks from most of Cuenca’s institutions and UNAV to the conference participants and attendees at the event.

Following the warm welcome, the conference continued with a presentation by Dolores Serrano, head of legal affairs at UNAV Legal DEIUREM. She addressed important topics such as the transposition of the new European Package Travel Directive into Spanish law, as well as new obligations for travel agencies regarding package tours and travel services covered by the regulation.
Additionally, the conference addressed another important topic: PCI/DSS certification in accordance with the regulations and compliance with IATA requirements. Furthermore, Mr. Manuel Fernandez himself also outlined the potential penalties for non-compliance with the new data protection law.
Once Manuel Fernandez’s presentation was over, Manuel Sos, General Manager of Pipeline Software, explained the amendment to the Additional Provision and the possibility of issuing invoices to document certain transactions in which travel agencies operate in the name and on behalf of the supplier.

After the break, Ingrid Graells, director of the sales department at Beroni Informática, served as a panelist in a roundtable discussion that explored fascinating technical and commercial topics affecting the approaches, treatment, and trends of today’s travelers. The discussion was highly appreciated by all attendees and panelists. We gained new insights that will help us grow further in adapting our technology to people’s needs.
The day concluded with a sightseeing tour of downtown Cuenca, where we were able to experience the city’s rich cultural heritage.
