Data spaces: the superpower of digital transformation
Ingrid Graells Paul,
Beroni’s sales and marketing director, participated yesterday, in her capacity as
chair of the Tech Tourism Cluster (TTC), in the 12th edition of
#ForumTurisTIC, the conference on innovation and technology in tourism organized
by the technology centerEurecat Technology Center – Technology Centerorlogical.
Ingrid specifically, he spoke
at the presentation titled ““Data Spaces: The
Superpower of Digital Transformation,” in which he alsoitThe following participated: Laura
Flores Iglesias (Director of Business Development and New Technologies,
SEGITTUR—State-Owned Company for the Management of Innovation and
Technologies)as Tur(statistics),
Francisco Huidobro, Director of Digital Services, MASORANGE and ÁÁngel Díaz,
president of Advanced Leisure Services, who will participateá as a moderator.
In this session, our
representative offered the TTC’s “insider” perspective to explain “in
depth”
what is happening with digitizationtourism, and how technology,
particularly the use of data, is transforming this sector
Some data that —said— are of fundamental value,
although companies remain very reluctant to
share them and capitalize on them. We need to build trust, he said.
In this regard, and to
address those very concerns, Ingrid spoke about European safe zones,
specifically the EU’s 2020 strategyEuropean Union, whose goal is
to create data “hubs” across the continent so that companies can
share information securely, “thereby promoting economic growth”economic”.
Because from the perspective
of the cluster chaired by Ingrid, which comprises more than 80 traveltech organizations
in Catalonia, these platforms present a “key opportunity,” based on
information that “will enhance strategic decision-making capabilities”it“and will create new
growth opportunities.”
“In the
traveltech sector in Catalonia, we see that all companies generate large
amounts of data, but the real challenge remains how to extract value from
it and put it to effective use,” he said during his talk.
Another great opportunity
that these data spaces offer, according to Ingrid, is the creation of new
models of collaboration through digitalization, which can facilitate the
formation of strategic alliancesitbusiness relationships among technology companiesortourism, statistics and
public administrationpublics.
“In a fully digital future, opportunities for tourism businesses
in CataloniaThey are huge“he ventured,”
Ingrid also revealed
the three key strategies that the TTC considers “essential” for the sector:
digital education and training, adapting to more sustainable tourism, and
innovation and flexibility.
To achieve all of this, however,
it is essential to have advanced computing structures,
with cloud infrastructure being “crucial” in this regard, as it is vital for
processing and managing the growing volume of data. “Cloud computing systems
not only facilitate this capability but also enable
collaboration among different industry players, promoting innovation,”
emphasized our sales and marketing director.
Before concluding,
Ingrid Graells discussed some examples and best practices being implemented
by the TTC, some of which involve the use of big data and predictive
analytics (which make it possible to anticipate tourism demand, thereby
improving resource planning and the personalization of offerings), or
solutions based on artificial intelligence, which are helping to
enhance the customer experience. In this same section, she also mentioned the
collaboration that the Tech Tourism Cluster is exploring with partners such as
Huawei Cloud.
The event was held in
the auditorium of the Barcelona Provincial Council, on the grounds of the
Industrial School, and was organized by Eurecat, the Government of
Catalonia, the Barcelona City Council, and the Barcelona Provincial Council.
