Starting today, September 2, businesses with 3 to fewer than 10 employees can apply for Phase II of the Digital Kit grant program, which offers up to 6,000 euros in funding.
This second call for grant applications has a budget of 500 million euros, funded by the Next Generation EU funds, as part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
The new regulations governing the granting of aid to small businesses, microenterprises, and the self-employed—which were published in late July, as Beroni announced on its social media channels—include several new provisions, which we will discuss in this blog post.
Key Points of the New Call for Applications
- Based on the changes made, two new categories of digitalization solutions have been added, the range of eligible entities has been expanded, and the deadlines for implementation, reporting, and payment have been adjusted to facilitate the implementation of the solutions, among other changes.
- With these changes, companies—through a digitalization service provider, such as Beroni—will now be able to contract services from a catalog of 12 categories of digitalization solutions, including:
– Website and basic online presence.
– E-commerce.
– Social media management.
– Customer management.
– Business intelligence and analytics.
– Process management, electronic invoicing, and virtual office services and tools.
– Secure communications.
– Cybersecurity.
– A strong online presence.
– Marketplace
- Another new addition to the catalog is in the website and basic online presence category.
- The new order clarifies that grants may be used to fund the replacement of existing digital solutions provided that such replacement results in a functional improvement: a completely new solution that meets the minimum requirements for the relevant category, and where the solution being replaced does not meet any of the minimum requirements for the relevant category of digital solutions.
- With the amendment to the terms and conditions, it will be necessary to include the registration of the domain for the beneficiary for a minimum period of 12 months, provided that the beneficiary is the owner of said domain and does not already have one prior to the development of the solution. This category also includes the multilingual feature.
- The methods of signing are also being expanded, with Cl@ve PIN and Cl@ve Permanente now serving as valid electronic signatures for signing the agreements and submitting supporting documentation. The regulations also provide for administrative managers to formalize digitization agreements.
- The digitalization provider has a maximum of three months to complete the installation and/or development of the solution.
- The first round of grants, aimed at companies with between 10 and fewer than 50 employees, remains open until September 15. So far, more than 50% of the target companies have applied for the digital voucher.
- The Kit Digital program is a government-led initiative managed by the public entity Red.es, which aims to promote the digital transformation of small businesses, micro-enterprises, and the self-employed, and to help modernize Spain’s economic fabric.
