Beroni and ObservaTUR are taking an in-depth look for the first time at corporate travelers and their main technological challenges

• The ease of booking and integration with internal tools internal tools would be the most sought-after solutions

According to professionals in this sector, who spoke with Beroni and ObservaTUR during the first survey conducted by this analytical tool to understand the behavior of business travelers, ease of booking is by far the main challenge agencies face when managing corporate travel for their clients.
After ease of use, respondents believe that integration with other internal management tools would be the second most decisive factor, particularly those that automate key functions
across all departments on a single centralized platform (finance, human resources, production, sales, supply chain, etc.)

Company travel policies and expense management would then be the factors that corporate travelers take most into account in their daily work routines.

New ways of working are making a strong impact on corporate practices, particularly hybrid travel (also known as “bleisure”) and remote work—a model already adopted by 15% of the working population in our country, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE), based on the Labor Force Survey (EPA) and other surveys related to the use of ICT.

Another technological challenge frequently cited by business travelers in their new guidelines is “reporting”—that is, providing real-time responses to the process of collecting, analyzing, and presenting an organization’s data in a structured and understandable manner.

The survey conducted by Beroni in collaboration with ObservaTUR took place just a few months after the Lleida-based technology company acquired Diurnus. In 2016, the company developed WebTour, a system specialized in corporate travel management, which is used on a daily basis by some of the leading travel agencies in this sector.

According to Josep Bellés, CEO of Beroni, “the study conducted by Beroni in collaboration with ObservaTUR—the first to delve deeply into the needs of corporate travelers—confirms that the new era of business travel demands a transformation. The future lies not in complexity, but in simplicity for the traveler and total integration for the company, adapting with agility to the new realities of remote work and hybrid travel.”
