ACAVE, the Corporate Association of Specialized Travel Agencies, held its 4th Technology Conference for Travel Agencies on February 20 at the NH Collection Constanza Hotel in Barcelona.
This year's conference focused on cybersecurity and digital innovation for travel agencies.
BeroniAs a sponsor of the ACAVE Technology Conference since its first edition in 2015, we attended the event this time represented by our General Manager Josep Bellés, Ingrid Graells and Carlos Segarra from the Sales Department, and Pilar Lara and Vicenç Quinquilla from the Support and Training Department.
Beroni staff participated in the day’s events, including both the workshop and the training sessions that took place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in various rooms throughout the hotel. The Beroni team met with the many travel agencies attending the workshop to present the latest updates, such as the new Secure Pay platform, which enables secure credit card payments when the customer is not physically present at the travel agency, as well as the new features of the latest version of Wasabi-s. Many agencies visited the Beroni table to learn about our products and services, designed to be implemented in their businesses with the goal of increasing productivity.
At the same time, we participated in the training sessions; specifically, our Sales Director, Ingrid Graells, gave two presentations to the attendees:
The first session began at 12:15 p.m., during which he presented the new platform developed by Beroni, BGS for Business Travel, under the name “Technology designed for the corporate traveler: it’s not just a self-booking tool, it’s the new standard in business travel.” In this first presentation, attendees were able to get an up-close look at the new module Beroni has developed for the corporate traveler, which allows companies to establish pricing and travel policies tailored to each traveler’s profile, covering self-service processes such as self-search, self-booking, and self-ticketing, among others.
The second presentation, titled “Business Intelligence Reports: Data Reveals Business Strengths and Weaknesses, ” took place at 1:25 p.m. During the session, Ingrid explained to the audience the benefits of Business Intelligence reports, which enable travel agencies to strengthen their relationships with customers by providing them with reliable, real-time data that helps them make better decisions.
We can draw several conclusions from this 4th ACAVE Technology Conference, all of which are very positive for the tourism sector in general and for technology providers in particular. According to a study conducted by ACAVE and Amadeus, travel agencies invest 13% of their budget in technology and systems, and 80% of them have a presence on social media. Undoubtedly, the future of the tourism sector is moving toward an online model where agencies will need to continue investing in technology to benefit from new business channels, which are becoming increasingly established.
At Beroni, we will continue to work and innovate to provide travel agencies with the best technological solutions, enabling them to adapt to the new business models emerging in the ever-evolving tourism sector.
