Beroni, represented by our sales representative Carlos Segarra, attended the 5th Workshop of Grup AVA, the Association of Travel Agencies of the Balearic Islands, held in Palma de Mallorca at the Innside Palma Bosque hotel on Thursday, November 7.
The event, designed as a gathering of travel agencies and tourism suppliers, aims to give agencies the opportunity to learn about the new products and services that suppliers are offering for the upcoming 2020 tourist season. A total of 70 people, representing 28 travel agencies and 20 supplier companies, participated in the event.
Each agency had eight minutes to meet with each tourism provider to learn about the new offerings for the coming season.
Carlos Segarra explained to the agents attending the workshop the benefits of using Wasabi-s in their businesses—our powerful hotel comparison tool and booking engine, which is already in use at more than 1,300 agencies across Spain and Portugal.
In addition to discussing Wasabi-s, a tool already familiar to industry professionals, Carlos introduced Secure Pay, the new secure payment platform developed by Beroni. Secure Pay allows travel agents to create a payment and send it securely to the customer via email, specifying a deadline for payment. The customer pays through the agency’s virtual POS and receives an email confirming that the payment was successful. The agency, for its part, can track pending payments through the same platform. This way, the agent no longer has to ask the customer for their card details. The professionals attending the workshop gave the new tool—unique in the tourism sector—a very positive reception.
After the suppliers presented their new offerings to the travel agents, all attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception where they continued to exchange views and discuss the new products that had been presented.
During the cocktail reception, there was time to hold a raffle for the gifts that suppliers had prepared for the travel agencies in the AVA Group. Beroni awarded the winner of the raffle a free year of the Secure Pay platform. The lucky winner was Pau Alemany of Sóller Tours, who received the prize from Carlos Segarra.
