Last weekend, February 8 and 9, the annual convention of Azul Marino was held in Bilbao. The group announced its growth in 2019 and introduced Tupai, the new luxury brand aimed at seasoned travelers seeking unique experiences.
Our CEO, Josep Bellés, and our Sales Director, Ingrid Graells, were in attendance and, for the second year in a row, participated in the convention organized by the largest tourism group in the Basque Country.
More than 250 professionals and representatives from 33 leading suppliers in the tourism sector, including Beroni, attended the convention. The suppliers had the opportunity to present their latest offerings in an Elevator Pitch, where they had 1 minute to deliver their presentations. Ingrid Graells informed attendees of the latest updates to the AM Booking reservation platform, developed using Wasabi-s.
Ingrid reported that usage of the AM Booking platform has increased by 35% compared to the previous year and thanked all offices for their trust and support. She also noted that a new version of the Hotels engine was released in January, featuring a new, faster, and more functional look and feel. Finally, she announced the imminent launch of the new Activities engine, fully integrated with Bedsonline.
Following the Elevator Pitch, a workshop was held in five rooms where suppliers and attendees had the opportunity to network and exchange ideas, as well as learn about the latest developments in the industry.
Beroni presented an update on the NDC Iberia integration, which allows travel agencies to book Iberia’s new “Cheapest” fares through the AM Booking flight search engine. For BTC Azul Marino offices, a new feature has been added that links the AM Booking hotel reservation RUA to the Amadeus PNR.
We’d like to thank Azul Marino for having us again this year. We had a great time and hope to do it again next year!
