Beroni digitalization award at the CETT Alimara Awards

  • Now in its 37th year, this event is organized by CETT and the B-Travel Tourism Fair, in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization and the Catalan Government
  • The jury has recognized the creation of BSG Sign Contract, a cloud-based platform that enables the management of package tour contracts for wholesale and retail travel agencies as well as end customers within a single environment
  • In the opinion of the jury members, this platform “enhances the sustainability of such processes, the user experience, and business competitiveness and efficiency.”

Beroni, a company specializing in technology services and R&D for the tourism and travel industry—particularly for travel agencies—was among the winners at the 37th annual CETT Alimara Awards, in the “Through Digitalization” category.

These awards, organized by CETT—a leading university center for tourism, hospitality, and gastronomy affiliated with the University of Barcelona—and the B-Travel Tourism Fair, in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization and the Catalan Government, recognize initiatives that offer an innovative vision in the areas of experiences, digitalization, sustainability, and applied research in the tourism, hospitality, and gastronomy sectors.

The Lleida-based company has been recognized for creating BGS Sign Contract, the only platform on the market that automatically generates package tour contracts—complete with all legal safeguards—and digitizes a process that, until now, has been done manually.

BGS also enables two-way communication between the customer, the retail agency, and the wholesale agency to sign all documentation both digitally and biometrically. It also allows for the creation of a contract repository, which tracks the status of each contract at all times (signed, expired, etc.).

The award-winning product was developed in close collaboration with travel agencies; it is available in the cloud, with all the benefits that entails; it is compatible with all management software; and it is equally suitable for both agencies and tour operators.

In recognizing Beroni, the awards jury highlighted the technological innovation behind BGS Sign Contract, “which, on a single cloud-based platform, enables the management of package tour contracts for wholesale and retail travel agencies and end customers within a single environment.” According to the jury, this platform “enhances the sustainability of these types of processes, the user experience, and business competitiveness and efficiency.”

BGS Sign Contract was added to Beroni's product portfolio in February 2022 and is another of the company's successful projects, among which the Wasabi-s online platform stands out; it is currently used by more than 800 domestic travel agencies and six management groups.

“This award not only fills us with pride as a company, but also serves as recognition of the hard work and dedication of everyone at Beroni in our mission to drive high-quality technology projects for the tourism and travel sector. Furthermore, the award allows us, in particular, to continue supporting the digital transformation of travel agencies, which has been another of our goals since our company was founded 35 years ago. Because BSG Sign Contract is not just a specialized technology platform; it also aims to be a benchmark for the industry,” says Josep Bellés, CEO of Beroni.

Along with Beroni, the 37th edition of the CETT Alimara Awards also honored a dozen other companies, including ID Tech&COM and Turismo de Barcelona, which were recognized in the same category as the Lleida-based firm.
