Beroni, as a company committed to the digital transformation of the tourism sector, played a leading role in the first edition of the Tecno Travel Agency UNAV, featuringour commercial director, Ingrid Graells Paul, who served as moderator for the panel discussion“Safe Travel: Cybersecurity Strategies for Agents.”
The session featured presentations by leading professionals such asLoly Serrano Castro, CEO of Deiurem, andManuel F. Fernández, VP of Sales Europe at BOTECH, who clearlyaddressedthe growing cyber risks currently facing the travel agency sector.
Among the most striking statistics shared, it was noted that in the summer of 2024 alone, cyberattacks in the European tourism sector increased by60%, and that Microsoft users recorded more than600 million attacks per day.
During the discussion, participants emphasized the importance ofprotecting data, anticipating threats, and taking effective action. They also warned of the risks associated with seemingly harmless emails and files, which can serve as entry points for malicious attacks. Furthermore, they stressed that the reputational impact of a cyberattack can be even more damaging than the financial impact.
The speakers agreed on the need to havecontingency plans in place, promoteongoing training, and recognize that cybersecurityis a shared responsibilityacross the entire organization. As was noted during the session:“At this point, there are two types of companies: those that have been attacked and those that will be.”
At Beroni, we remain committed to secure, responsible, and collaborative digitalization that protects not only our systems but also the trust of our clients and the tourism industry as a whole.
