The National Observatory on Outbound Tourism (ObservaTur) has released its first report on Spanish tourists’ vacation habits for this summer. Going forward, ObservaTur will issue two annual reports—one in the winter and one in the summer—timed to coincide with the peak tourist seasons. This first report will be published in May.
Beroni is one of the sponsors of ObservaTur, alongside Amadeus, Carrefour Viajes, Iberia, Movelia, ReiniziaT, Renfe SNCF, and the National Association of Travel Agencies (UNAV). This report, based on surveys of more than 1,000 Spanish travelers, is the first specialized tracking and monitoring tool in the travel sector. It aims to provide greater insight into Spanish tourists, their habits, and preferences when planning their vacations—information that is in high demand by the Spanish tourism industry to better understand customers and anticipate what they are looking for.
Our CEO, Josep Bellés, and our Sales Director, Ingrid Graells, attended the press conference in Madrid to present the report, where the sponsors introduced the report to the media and highlighted its benefits: The OvservaTur report, with its data, will make it possible to identify trends among outbound tourists, and travel agents will be able to understand their clients’ habits and track how they evolve. And it’s not just travel agents who will benefit; according to Josep Bellés, the information will be useful for the entire sector because the main challenge facing tourism professionals is digital transformation, which entails increased spending on technology.
The companies sponsoring ObservaTur are very pleased to present their first report and are optimistic about the future; for this reason, they have emphasized that the initiative is open to other companies in the sector that wish to participate in the project.
