April 3, 2025.—Beroni , a company that has specialized in technology for the tourism sector since its founding in 1987, announced today the acquisition of Diurnus, atechnologyfirm specializing in management systems for travel agencies. With this acquisition, the Lleida-based company positions itself as the only technology partner in Catalonia specializing in the travel agency and destination sectors.
Founded in Barcelona in 1995, Diurnus hasover 30years of experience and offers one of the most robust and functional platforms in its sector, called WebTour, which specializes in corporate travel management.
Its clients include some of the most prominent travel agencies in its regional market, all of which are leaders in their field ofexpertise (business travel and MICE)
With this addition, Beroni will offer one of the industry’s most extensive catalogs of technology products, currently comprising more than 70 solutions across five business lines:
- Beroni's custom management software, used daily by nearly 300 travel agencies in Spain.
- Wasabi-s online booking platform, used by more than 900 travel agencies and 6 management groups.
- Enjoy Experience, a marketplace that facilitates the marketing of experiences in travel destinations, in-house product development, and web platform design.
- The BGS (Beroni Global Solution) line, the fourth generation of our software, includes the Sign Contract module—the only cloud-based platform that allows for the automatic generation of package tour contracts and their digital signing by travelers.
- Smart Business: Recently launched, this division allows agencies to focus on sales and business growth, while its team of experts handles administrative, tax, and accounting tasks with maximum efficiency and security.
- WebTour, the system developed by DIURNUS in 2016, is now available through Beroni, a company specializing in corporate travel management, and is used daily by some of the leading travel agencies in this sector.
The acquisition of Diurnus comes at a pivotal moment in Beroni’s corporate history; after 38 years in business, the company is looking ahead with a new Strategic Plan for the 2025–2027 period, focused on innovation, technology, and customer service. The transaction announced today also solidifies the technology company’s position as one of the top three domestic companies with the longest history in the sector.
This new phase will also provide a boost to innovation and R&D—an integral part of Beroni’s DNA—as the company allocates 8% of its annual revenue to these efforts.
These initiatives have made it possible, for example, to develop one of the market’s leading platforms, Wasabi-s; to create the first solution capable of generating package tour contracts in real time; and to introduce the first technological solution that made it easy to comply with Royal Decree 933/2021. Or to make progress on the technological solution that facilitates the adoption of the Veri*Factu regulation for invoicing systems, which will definitively take effect on January 1, 2026. Along these same lines, Beroni, leveraging artificial intelligence, has been a beneficiary of three “Last Mile” projects in collaboration with various companies in the sector.
According to Josep Bellés, CEO of Beroni, “the transaction we are announcing today opens up a whole new world of possibilities, in which Beroni, together with its customers and with the support of its suppliers, aims to take the lead in shaping its future and addressing the challenges it brings. Beyond the business opportunity that this purchase may represent, it is important to highlight the value this acquisition brings to Beroni, as from now on our brand is positioned as the only technology partner in Catalonia specializing in the travel agency and destination sector. This, therefore, further consolidates our commitment to leadership.”
Beroni has been supported by ACCIO, the Agency for Business Competitiveness of the Government of Catalonia, through its Business Growth Service. This program offers strategic advice, practical tools, and financial assistance to implement new business plans and gain a competitive edge.
Thanks to this support, Beroni has been able to solidify its strategic vision, strengthen its management capabilities, and more effectively address business challenges—all of which have been key to its expansion and the acquisition of Diurnus.
